The Chisinau Municipal Council approved the anticorruption plan of the local public authorities for 2022-2025. The general goal of the document is to strengthen the instruments for preventing corruption risks. This includes six priorities deduced after analyzing the problems faced by the local public administration, which were correlated with the priorities stipulated in the anticorruption action plan approved by the Government, IPN reports.
The priorities refer to the strengthening of the institutional integrity by appropriately applying the anticorruption legislation and by ensuring the efficient and transparent management of the municipal property. Public procurement is to be made more transparent, while the quality of public services provided for the citizens will be improved, as will be communication with the citizens.
The plan stipulates 100 actions and measures for achieving the presented objectives, by specifying the implementation periods, progress indicators and expected results. The funds needed for the purpose will be earmarked in the municipal budget.
Mayor General Ion Ceban said that some of the activities incorporated into the anticorruption plan were already implemented. These refer to the sale of lots of land that is based on tender contests. It was initiated the procedure for registering everything that is related to the municipal property. All the public procurement procedures are performed through the platform “achiziții.md”. The mayor set the goal of making the activity of the local public authorities of Chisinau one of the most transparent ones in the country during his tenure.
