The Chisinau – Minsk flight operated by Belavia company of Belarus was launched on October 30. The flight will be available for five times a week and will last for an hour and a half. Prime Minister Pavel Filip flied to Minsk on a working visit by this flight, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
According to Pavel Filip, the direct flight to Minsk will open up business opportunities and new destinations for Moldovans, who could reach other countries from Minsk easier and cheaper. Moldova could become a tourist destination for the citizens of a number of states who can easier get to Chisinau through Minsk.
“Today we show once again that the relations between the Republic of Moldova and Belarus are based on friendship, confidence and mutual respect, but also on concrete projects for the citizens,” Pavel Filip stated in the launch. He promised the 1,000th passenger a visit to the Government and a trip to wineries.
Belavia vice director Igor Tcherginets said the tickets to the given flight are already in demand. “We brought 65 passengers to Chisinau, while 92 passengers will fly back. It is a good result for the start and I hope the flight will become a daily one in the future,” he stated, adding the flight becomes popular with passengers in transit who fly to Final, Russia, Kazakhstan or Georgia.
The flight will leave Chisinau for Minsk on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 2:05pm and on Monday and Friday at 9:05am. A one-way ticket costs €83, while a return ticket €153.
