Chisinau mayor withdraws powers of deputy mayor Igor Lupulciuc
Chisinau's mayor Dorin Chirtoaca withdraws the powers of deputy mayor Igor Lupulciuc. The announcement was made at a news conference Thursday, December 4. The mayor argued his subaltern did not obey the ordinance to re-establish Mihai Moldovanu in the position of Health Direction Head, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Dorin Chirtoaca says Lupulciuc was involved in the conflict having occurred on Tuesday, December 2, when the lock of the door of the direction was changed. When asked, Lupulciuc produced but an evasive answer.
The powers Lupulciuc had have been taken over by mayor Chirtoaca.
The mayor's decision to appoint Mihai Moldovanu was sued by the Chisinau Council, as the majority of councilors appointed Ion Artemi in this position.
Mihai Moldovanu reached the hospital Tuesday complaining of heart problems after altercations in the quarters of the direction. As the ambulance was carrying Mihai Moldovanu, Ion Arteni occupied his place.
