Mayor General of the municipality of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca met with the special representative of the European Union to Moldova, Kalman Miszei. According to a press release from the City Hall, during the meeting, the European official congratulated Dorin Chirtoaca for the success registered in the local elections. Also, Kalman Miszei expressed his hope that after the election of the new mayor general, the city will take over the experience of other European capital cities in what concerns the development of the city and implementation of projects of public interest, thus getting closer to the standards of the European Union. For his part, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca welcomed the presence of the European official at the City Hall and thanked for his wishes. The Mayor said he intends to contribute to strengthening the relations between the European structures and the administration of the municipality of Chisinau. Also, the parties discussed about the last developments of the Transnistrian issue, as well as the perspectives of Chisinau, in light of the political situation created in Moldova after elections. The parties reiterated the idea that the only solution to overcome the problems of the municipality is to attract investments. In this context, the mayor assured the special representative of EU that the new administration of Chisinau will create favourable conditions for the foreign investors, by ensuring transparency in the activity of the local public authorities and eliminating bureaucracy from the municipal structures.
