Chisinau mayor does not want holes on streets after repairing underground networks
The Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca says that the streets should have no holes after carrying out repair works on underground networks. He instructed transport officials to work out obligatory technical requirements for the enterprises that execute such works so that the quality of the works is guaranteed.
Chirtoaca ordered that the district head’s offices help assess all the holes in the municipality of Chisinau. He said that the works should be repeated where there will be found holes or other signs of non-qualitative works.
Veaceslav Tarna, head of the General Division of Transport and Communication Ways, said that the economic entities that carry out such works must provide a two-year guarantee. He said that such companies as “Termocom” JSC, “Apa-Canal–Chisinau”, the Electric Transport Division are now carrying out repairs on the underground networks.
At the same time, Tarna says that there are enough levers to make the respective companies perform qualitatively the works. A problem is the frequent defects in the engineering networks that are worn out. When accidents occur near places where repair works have been carried out recently, the land there is caving in.
Tarna says that the repair works are performed in extreme conditions and in reduced terms due to the close proximity of the engineering networks of different kind in the municipality of Chisinau. The Chisinau authorities do not always manage to check how the works are carried out.
