About MDL 1.5 blni were invested in the fixed capital of Chisinau municipality in the first 6 months of 2006, registering an increase by 10 % compared with the same period of 2005, according to the head of the General Economy, Reform and Patrimony relations Department (DGERRP), Valentina Merla. Merla says that the part of Chisinau municipality in the volume of investments made in the national economy was of 67 %, increasing 2.8 times compared with 2000. More than this, the foreign investments represented in the six months of 2006 about MDL 330 mln, or 22.6 % of the total volume of investments made at municipal level. The share of investments in the production sector was of 54 %, or MDL 788.9 mln. In the first semester of 2006, about MDL 6 mln for building gas pipelines in the private dwelling sector were spent, including in Chisinau suburbs – MDL 4.4 mln.
