The 2022 Europe Triathlon Junior Cup will be held in the Park “La Izvor” in Buiucani district of Chisinau on August 6-7. The event is a premiere for the country and, according to the municipality, is an important step towards the popularization of triathlon as a sports event, training of professional athletes and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, IPN reports.

The event is held under the aegis of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport in partnership with the National Triathlon Federation of the Republic of Moldova.

The competition involves 104 athletes from such countries as Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, the UK, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, and the Republic of Moldova.

The registration of participants and the first training sessions will take place on Saturday, while the competition will be held in the Park “La Izvor” on Sunday starting at 7am.

The award ceremony will begin at 2:30pm and will involve mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban, vice president of the National Triathlon Federation Alexandru Mechin and the representatives of the European Triathlon Union Pascal Salamin.
