Chisinau has sources to cover most important programs, Igor Dodon

Guaranteed social protection, access to quality healthcare services, modern education and training- these are just few of PCRM mayoral candidate Igor Dodon’s electoral promises. His program was presented on Wednesday, May 4, at the Municipal Hospital nr.4. Dodon claims he chose this place to call attention to the poor state of the institution, Info-Prim Neo reports. Igor Dodon promises to restore public transport facilities for pensioners and disabled people, to extend social assistance services for unemployed persons, to extend the social canteens network and to create 50 social markets by 2013. Another promise is a free medical examination for each person. Dodon says that if is elected Mayor, he will increase the funding for education by 10% and will support institutions with teaching in ethnic minorities’ languages. “There are sources to cover the expenses of these important programs in Chisinau. I’m a little puzzled that 60% of the country’s economic potential is concentrated in Chisinau and we’re told the municipal budget is deficient. I think there is a lack of professionalism in fiscal-budgetary management within the City Hall and we have solutions for this”, said Igor Dodon. The Communists’ candidate added that the City Hall found 1 million lei for April 7, but didn’t find the same money for healthcare institutions like Municipal Hospital nr.4. “We’re wholly against the destructive and antisocial policy promoted by the Chisinau City Hall. It must invest more in institutions like this, which are municipal institutions. The funding must be found in the City budget and the mayor must care less about politics and come with solutions”, said Igor Dodon.
