Chisinau denies the information about the so-called incident at the railway station Bender 2
The Moldovan delegation at the Joint Control Commission (JCC) denies the information made public in the Russian and Transnistrian press reports about the so-called incident at the railway station Bender 2.
According to certain mass media of Russia and Transnistria, on Tuesday, May 30, about 30 Moldovan policemen made a forced attempt to take over the station, controlled by the regime of Tiraspol. According to them, 5 Transnistrian policemen defended the station.
Ion Leahu, member of the Moldovan delegation to JCC, considers these affirmations as „provocative”. According to him, about 300 meters far from the Bender station nr.2, a team of the Ministry of Transport and Road Management started building a platform for passengers. On Tuesday, a group of representatives from Tiraspol addressed to constructors’ team and required them to interrupt their works. MTGD team and the representatives of Tiraspol did not get to any agreement, but “no attack over someone happened either”, Leahu noted, who also mentioned that only 2-3 policemen were in the area and not 30.
Ion Leahu admitted that the so-called incident might be discussed at the JCC meeting, held on June1.
