The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, in concert with officers of the National Anticorruption Center, arrested the head of the Administrative Procedures Section of the Chisinau Customs Post on suspicion of passive corruption, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.

During investigations, it was established that the person asked for US$600 from the representative of a Ukrainian company for not penalizing administratively. This person didn’t indicate in the technical passport that the unit of transport by which he exported products from Ukraine for the Rybnitsa Cement Plant had been reequipped.

The employee of the Chisinau Customs Post was caught red-handed immediately after he took the bribe in the evening of May 14. He was taken to the remand unit of the National Anticorruption Center.
