Not even a week after the Chisinau Municipal Council approved the sponsorship offer to design the General Urban Development Plan of Chisinau municipality, submitted by the Research Center for Sustainable Development of Bucharest, two councilors of the Shor Party withdrew their votes. Without the two votes, the relevant draft decision is short of votes for being approved, IPN reports.
Valerii Klimenko, of the Shor Party, said that he and his mate decided to withdraw their votes as they didn’t fully understand the essence of the subject during the debates given that they weren’t provided with translations into Russian. He also said that the Romanian society that submitted the offer is suspected of not working legally.
At the request of the head of the PPPDA group on the CMC Andrei Năstase, an amendment was voted to entrust mayor Ion Ceban with the task of identifying the financial resources needed to work out the General Urban Development Plan and the strategy for developing the municipality of Chisinau until April 1, 2020.
