Chisinau City Hall remodels website

An updated version of the Chisinau City Hall’s webpage is now available at http://chisinau.deeplace.md:9120. Initially set for 10 February, its official launch has been delayed by efforts to improve the site’s friendliness and content, Info-Prim Neo reports.
City authorities have recently vowed to ensure transparency and enhance civic participation in decision-making, approving regulations to this effect.
The regulations stipulated improved access of the population to information of public concern and the consolidation of cooperation between local authorities and the citizens/civic associations, as well as equal possibilities for participating in the decision-making process. By means of these regulations, the authorities commit themselves to organise public consultations with the participation of the citizens and to make public all decision drafts.
The City Hall’s website started to be remodelled after the General Mayor and local authorities showed their dissatisfaction with the way the old web page of the Chisinau City Hall www.chisinau.md looked and worked. Even an investigation into the way this page had been created was initiated to find out whether there was a City Council decision on the creation of this website and how much money went to develop it. But the issue was eventually buried.
