Chisinau City Hall proposes partial heating debt payment scheme to CMC
Deputy Mayor of Chisinau Vlad Cotet tabled a draft decision regarding the allocation of 50 million lei to the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on September 23. The money is to be transferred to SA Termocom to settle a part of the debt of 220 million lei that the Chisinau administration owes to the heat supplier, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The draft decision will be put to the vote after all the items on the agenda of the meeting opened on September 11 are examined.
The CMC president Eduard Musuc said that the decision will be voted on by the councilors only after it is approved by the legal and financial commissions.
According to Vlad Cotet, the money will be allocated from the additional revenues of the City Hall.
The debt to Termocom represents the difference in the approved heating charge and the compensated charge paid by the population.
The City Hall offered earlier the heat supplier to pay the debt in installments, until the end of this year, because there are not enough resources in the municipal budget.
Termocom officials argued once again that the company was in a difficult financial situation and warned that the heating season would not start in time if the debt was not cleared until October 10.
The heating season in the municipality of Chisinau typically starts in the second half of October.
