Children who got stuck at border between Belarus and Lithuania continue their way home, MFA

The group of children of “Rhapsody” choir who were stuck for more than 24 hours at the border between Belarus and Lithuania continue their way home safely. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, the Lithuanian authorities issued a travel permit for the bus carrying the choir. It was the missing document without which transit through Lithuania is not permitted.

In a press release, the MFA says that all children and adults accompanying them received the necessary help, including hot lunches.

Moldova’s Embassies in Vilnius and Minsk intervened immediately after the problem was reported and cooperated with the Lithuanian side so as to identify a swift solution. The MFA recommends checking the validity of IDs and carriers’ permits before setting off.

The children of “Rhapsody “choir” are returning home from Belarus, where they took part in a series of cultural events. The problem was signaled by the coordinator of the ensemble, Natalia Barabanshchikova, through a video whereby she asked for help.
