Child suffers serious injuries on playground

A six-year-old boy received severe injuries while playing on a playground in the yard of a house in Chisinau's Ciocana district. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the incident happened in the presence of his parents on Mircea cel Batran Blvd. The boy climbed up the stairs, slipped and fell on other stairs from a height of about two meters. The ambulance doctors diagnosed the child with internal organ injury, possible spleen rupture and backbone contusion. He was admitted to Valentin Ignatenko Hospital. A 33-year-old man was discovered dead in a house in Goenii-Noi village. He was there on a visit. He had no signs of violence on his body. An investigation is underway. A man, 22, cut his veins open in order to kill himself. He was rushed to the Emergency Hospital. A woman, 47, also tried to kill herself while under the influence of alcohol. After having a quarrel with her father, the woman artificially cut her veins with a razor blade. She refused hospitalization. A 48-year-old woman from Bubuieci commune suffered a stroke at the entrance to the Central Market in Chisinau. An ambulance team gave her first aid. Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Ambulance Service dealt with 857 calls, including 77 cases of acute viral infection, 85 cases of trauma, four strokes and 33 deliveries.
