A three-year-old boy was admitted to the intensive care unit after falling from the third floor of an apartment building in Botanica district of Chisinau in the evening of February 1.

Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Svetlana Scripnic has told IPN that the child was in the care of his mother who left him unsupervised for several minutes. The child got onto the chair near the window and fell out.

The police have opened an investigation.

The grownups are urged not to leave the children in the room alone when ventilating the dwelling and to use vertical sliding windows. The tables, chairs and cupboards should not be placed on the balcony or near the window as the children can climb onto them, not being aware of the danger, and can fall out.
