The financial allocations from the state budget for professional sports will be distributed according to a modified mechanism. All the national sports federations, not only those that obtained remarkable results in sports last year, will benefit from allocations, as the Cabinet decided on Wednesday, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Education and Research said that 15% of the allocations will be intended for Olympic and Paralympic events, while 2% for non-Olympic and non-Paralympic events. 68% of the allocations will be offered for results achieved in Olympic/Paralympic and non-Olympic events, while 15% will represent the reserve of the central specialized authority in physical education and sports.
According to Minister Dan Perciun, the changes improve the mechanism of financing by extending funding for Paralympic events and are designed to ensure better inclusion and to financially support the nice results obtained also by the Paralympic athletes.
