Changes in Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office put off

The Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) will not examine the Prosecutor General's request regarding the modification of the structure of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office on Friday. The examination of the matter was postponed at the request of deputy prosecutor general Sergiu Russu, IPN reports.

The request to put off the examination of the subject was registered on Friday morning. In the submitted request, the deputy prosecutor general says that he cannot attend the meeting due to another meeting that was planned earlier. Likewise, the prosecutor general, who is the author of this approach, did not come to the SCP’s meeting on the grounds that he was on a trip.

The examination of the subject was postponed by a unanimous vote, but no concrete date was announced.

The changes in the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office were recommended by the Supreme Security Council. After Monday's meeting of the Council, President Maia Sandu said that the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office fully failed in the fight against grand corruption, especially in the fight against political corruption.
