The Government of Moldova will most probably not manage to implement the overdue measures stipulated in the Association Agreement with the EU during 30 days. The issue was discussed in the program “Moldova live” on Moldova 1 channel, IPN reports.

Roman Chirca, director of the Market Economy Institute, said not much time remained and it will be hard for the executive to cope. “The time is the Government’s problem. The period of rhetoric has passed. It is necessary to combine the rhetoric with concrete actions,” he stated.

Politologist Aurelian Lavric considers the EU will continue to wait for the Government of Moldova to do the overdue reforms. “The EU and the IMF are on waiting positions. Moldova is a poorly developed state and thus poses a threat to the European Union. The EU wants a government that will think in a European way in Moldova. It wants the state to serve the interests of the people not vice versa. Political will among the rulers is an important thing that Moldova lacks,” he stated.

Former deputy minister of foreign affairs Iulian Groza also believes that the Government will not meet the deadline set by it. “Parliament is to adopt important laws, especially those that refer to the justice sector reform and corruption fighting. The quality of the laws is also important and these should work,” he said.
