Center will coordinate external assistance for fighting COVID-19

The Commission for Exceptional Stations decided to create a center for coordinating the external assistance provided for alleviating the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, under the aegis of the State Chancellery, IPN reports.

According to Prime Minister Ion Chicu, there are a number of proposals for offering humanitarian assistance for containing the COVID-19 pandemic and also multiple requests for such aid made by local public authorities and other institutions.

“The center is created to coordinate all this assistance and the process of examining the applications and of communicating with the potential donors,” Premier Chicu stated after the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations.

In another development, the official said that during the state of emergency the process of providing Moldovan nationality was stopped because not all the institutions involved in this process work in a normal regime. He noted he does not refer to citizenship by investment as the law allowing for this was suspended until September.
