Cellphone smuggling at Leuseni-Albita customs checkpoint

The driver of a minibus driving from Romania to Moldova is charged by the Hancesti District Prosecutor’s Office with large-scale smuggling. The customs officers found 79 cellphones and 2 iPads hidden in the driver’s seat, in the first passenger seats and the minibus speakers, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the driver tried to cross the border without declaring the goods. The value of undeclared devices is estimated at 310,000 lei. The Hancesti District Prosecutor’s Office finalized the investigation and sent the file for examination to the Hancesti District Court.
