Voters who have reached the age of 18 after august 17, 2024 and have obtained for the first time an identity card indicating their place of residence can exercise their right to vote in the new local elections on november 17, 2024. They will be included on the supplementary electoral list if they present a confirmatory document proving compliance with certain provisions of the Electoral Code (e.g. the identity card of one of their parents), the CEC said in a press release.
At today's meeting, the CEC decided that a voter who presents his/her passport or identity card without an accompanying document will be allowed to exercise his/her right to vote if the electronic SIAS "Elections" system confirms that he/she is registered at the polling station and is on the basic electoral list.
In the case of voters who vote with their passport, the serial number and the passport number will be entered in the "Note" box on the electoral roll.
In the same way, in order not to allow photographing the ballot paper, which is forbidden, by derogation from the provisions of the instruction on ensuring the polling station infrastructure, the voting booths will be located so that the outer side, where the CEC logo is placed, is oriented at an angle of 45 degrees to the free wall of the polling station premises, so that the uncovered part of them is partially in the field of vision of all members of the polling station electoral bureau and subjects authorized to assist in electoral operations, IPN reports.
