CEC has accredited international observers for March 16 elections
The Central Election Commission (CEC) Wednesday accredited 77 international observers for the elections in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Twenty-one observers, the largest number, are from the OSCE Mission to Moldova. Sixteen observers represent the U.S. Embassy, while 11 the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
There were accredited seven persons delegated by the Embassy of Turkey and by 5 observers from Eurasia Foundation, the International Republican Institute and the National Democratic Institute.
Two accredited observers represent the Romanian Senate and two the Polish Embassy in Moldova.
The Embassy of France, the Embassy of the Czech Republic and the Office of the EU’s Special Representative for Moldova will delegate by one observer.
The elections for the Gagauz People’s Assembly will be held on March 16.
