CEC extends deadline for submitting electoral rolls

As local authorities in 167 towns and villages failed to present the electoral rolls due until March 1 in light of the upcoming local elections, the Central Election Commission (CEC) decided to extend the deadline until March 15 inclusive, Info-Prim Neo reports. CEC said in a press release that it received digital versions of the electoral rolls from 1531 out of 1962 polling stations, adding that will seek penalties for the local authorities that will exceed the new deadline. Under the law, the local authorities are required to update electoral rolls each year after January 1, following verifications, and present the updated information to CEC until March 1
