CEC: Error on official website does not affect electoral process

The error that occurred on the Central Electoral Commission's website does not have legal implications and does not affect the electoral process. The CEC's explanation was issued after three members of the Chișinău constituency electoral Council notified of a possible attempt to fraud or discredit the local elections set for October 20.

"As a result of a parallel internal investigations, it was found that the annex to CECE Decision no 1 Chișinău no 62 of September 24, 2019 regarding the nominal composition of the members of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations corresponds with the Decision of the Chișinău Municipal Council concerning the designation of the members of the corresponding electoral bureaus”, the CEC release states.

The quoted source said that the list of the members of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations, corresponds to the annex approved by the Electoral Council of Electoral District no. 1 Chișinău. "The error admitted on the official website of the Central Electoral Commission does not produce legal effects and does not affect the electoral process. The error was generated by mistake by a CECE no.1 Chișinău operator”, the statement said.
