The Central Election Commission (CEC) calls upon the election runners and the media outlets to conduct a correct election campaign, in strict compliance with the electoral legislation. It noted that the results depend on the behavior of each electoral subject involved in the organization and holding of elections and these will actually reflect the voters’ will, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the institution.
The campaign prior to the new parliamentary elections that will take place in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești on March 15 starts officially on February 14. The election campaign is the period when activities are carried out to persuade the people vote for a particular election runner.
Under the Election Code, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, parties and other sociopolitical organizations, electoral blocs, candidates and right hands of candidates can freely discuss the electoral programs of election contenders and can campaign at assemblies, meetings with voters, through the mass media, election posters, etc.
The CEC urges to conduct the election campaign in conditions of equal competition, by objectively informing the voters about the electoral processes, by respecting the dignity of the participants in the process, in an atmosphere of confidence and mutual respect.
