The Central Election Commission on October 19 agreed its budget for 2022, in the amount of 133.4 million lei, IPN reports.

For the main policy measures for 2022, in accordance with the CEC’s strategic plan for 2020-2023, the Commission earmarked 64.6 million lei.

A sum of 8.7 million lei was allocated for holding new local elections next spring and autumn, 41.7 million lei for financing political parties, while 2.8 million lei for financing the activities of the Center for Continuous Electoral Training working under CEC.

The financial plan will be submitted to the Government and Parliament for being included in the draft state budget for next year.
