CEC appoints four councillors to Chisinau Municipal Council
The Central Election Commission (CEC) named four councillors to the Chisinau Municipal Council on November 27.
The candidates of the Communist Party (PCRM) Serghei Novic and Stefan Crudu replaced Veaceslav Iordan and Mihai Arusoi, who resigned. The former interim mayor and the former PCRM candidate for Mayor of Chisinau Veaceslav Iordan was appointed as head of Moldova’s Water Agency by the Government on August 1, 2007. Mihai Arusoi works as commercial director of Termocom SA.
The AMN candidate Mihai Magdei substitutes the representative of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party (AMN) Mihai Furtuna, who was named as deputy mayor of Chisinau.
Ghenadie Dumanschi representing the Democratic Party replaces Vlad Cotet, who also became deputy mayor.
The Chisinau Municipal Council is composed of 51 councillors elected on June 3, 2007 for a four-year term.
