The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the withdrawal of candidate Andrei Nastase, who was fielded by the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA), from the race for the presidency, IPN reports.

Under the same decision, Andrei Nastase must present a report on the amounts collected and spent in the election campaign within 24 hours.

Andrei Nastase, who supports candidate Maia Sandu in elections, issued a press release saying the historical chance to bring the lawlessness to an end and to start to demolish the corrupt system cannot be missed. “By uniting our forces and energies, we will manage to give a crushing blow to the oligarchic forces that captured the state and to take our country back, as the Great National Assembly decided on September 6, 2015,” he stated.

Andrei Nastase also says that Maia Sandu pledged to implement the political program proposed by the PPPDA, which is fully based on people’s aspirations.
