CCCEC officer shot himself accidentally?

The officer of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC) shot himself accidentally with his gun. The information was made public by the leader of the Antimafia Movement Sergiu Mocanu, who made reference to the preliminary results of the investigation. The official bodies have not confirmed it. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Sergiu Mocanu said he obtained the information from reliable sources that cannot be revealed for security reasons. He said that Bogdan Zumbreanu, deputy head of the CCCEC’s Prosecution Division, made accusations without having proofs. “The administration of the Center used the mass media to manipulate the people and create an informational screen in order to hide its professional frailty and the abuse of power,” said Sergiu Mocanu. According to the leader of the Antimafia Movement, after pressure was exerted on employees of the Stefan Voda Prosecutor’s Office to arrest Victor Busuioc, Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco ordered that the case be taken over by the Prosecutor General’s Office. Busuioc Victor was placed under arrest for 72 hours on April 13. The prosecutors may obtain an arrest warrant against him meanwhile, said Sergiu Mocanu. The prosecutor general of Stefan Voda could not be found for comment. Spokeswoman for the CCCEC Angela Starinschi said the Center has not been informed about the results of the preliminary investigation and cannot comment rumors. [UPDATE:] Maria Vieru, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office, has told Info-Prim Neo that the institution she represents denies the accusations made by Sergiu Mocanu. “The Prosecutor’s Office reiterates that it will continue to work professionally and proficiently in order to discoverer the truth and hold the culprits accountable, by observing human rights,” Maria Vieru said. In the evening of April 11, an officer of the CCCEC was shot in the head during the arrest of a group of persons who smuggled contraband from Ukraine. The officer was taken to the hospital in a serious condition and underwent two operations. According to the Center, the fire was opened by the house’s owner. Victor Busuioc said earlier that the CCCEC officers entered his house masked and armed and started to beat his son. In order to stop them, he fired a shot and went to seek help. He found out that he injured an officer when he returned. The incident happened in Tudora village of Stefan Voda district.
