The decision of the Constitutional Court (CC), which shows that Romanian is the official language, is a victory of the truth, considers the president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Gheorghe Duca, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Academy.
“For me and for the whole academic community, this decision is very pleasant. It is a victory of the not only scientific, but also human truth,” said the academician. He added that on September 9, 1994, the Academy of Sciences, by the vote of the presidium, adopted a decision according to which Romanian is the literary language in Moldova.
In the second Congress of Eminescologists of this September, Gheorghe Duca proposed erecting a monument dedicated to the Romanian language in the Academy’s square.
On December 5, the Constitutional Court ruled that in case of divergences between the texts of the Declaration of Independence and of the Constitution, the primary text of the Declaration will prevail.
