The Constitutional Court (CC) for now cannot pronounce on the legality of the elections as the courts of law haven’t definitively solved all the challenges concerning electoral incidents and irregularities. This is said on the Court’s website, IPN reports.
Under the Electoral Code, the CC confirms the legality of the elections within ten days of the receipt of the relevant documents from the Central Election Commission, but not before the courts of law deal with all the challenges filed in accordance with the legal procedures.
The Constitutional Court received from the CEC the decision on the results of the presidential runoff and the report on the outcome of the presidential elections and other electoral documents on November 23.
