Catching speedy motorists „behind bushes” is unworthy of policemen - minister
The Minister of Interior, Gheorghe Papuc considers that excluding human factor out of the supervising road traffic process would solve problems raised by the behavior of road policemen.
At the meeting with mass media, Gheorghe Papuc admitted that many road policemen adopt arrogant behavior towords traffic participants, and considers that the latter ones show indiscipline.
The minister noted that lately the staff of the Road Police was changed 3 times, but the situation did not improve in fact. In his opinion, a solution is to implement automatic supervision traffic systems. Papuc considers the radar as an old tool, and the method of catching speeding motorists hiding „behind bushes” - shameful.
According to the minister, at the moment there are already used certain new equipments, but there is no technical center yet where to stock information for sanctioning drivers violating the rules. MAI required the assistance of many countries, Papuc mentioned.
