Cartridges replaced with stones at “Fulger” Brigade. Lilian Carp: Someone should answer with post

The Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a crate of cartridges from a gun room of the Special Purpose Police Brigade “Fulger”, said Lilian Carp, chairman of the Parliament’s commission on national security, defense and public order. According to him, the cartridges in the crate were replaced with stones and sand and someone should answer with the post for such an incident, IPN reports.

The MP of the ruling party PAS noted that following checks in the weapons storage room, employees of “Fulger” Brigade discovered the disappearance of thousands of cartridges that were stored in a crate, the bullets being replaced with stones and sand.

“I asked the minister of internal affairs for explanations. According to the information provided to me by the minister, the ammunition crates were released in 2022 for the intervention forces. When they had to be handed back, it was noticed that a crate had no seal and, instead of cartridges, it was filled with stones and sand. An investigation is underway. The Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case to determine to whom this crate was released, who was responsible for it? In each group there is someone responsible for the necessary ammunition in case of interventions,” Lilian Carp stated in the program “Resumé” on RliveTV channel.

He avoided saying who would be responsible for the disappearance of thousands of cartridges, but noted that for such an incident “Fulger” officials should be penalized with dismissal.

“Investigators are trying to find out how the bullets disappeared from that crate and how the replacement was later possible. It could have been anyone, a group leader, but it is the Prosecutor’s Office that will pronounce. The fact that someone has to answer with the position is another story and the Minister of Internal Affairs will take the necessary decisions in this regard,” said the parliamentarian.

Yesterday, the head of the Communication and Protocol Division of the General Police Inspectorate Diana Fetco confirmed that employees of “Fulger” Brigade intended to use some of the missing bullets for routine tactical exercises.
