Starting September 2006, the “Auto Expert” magazine, with the support of the Auto Press Association will organize for the second time the prestigious national contest – Car of the Year in Moldova 2006. The contest will be separated in two parts, namely the award “Car of the Year” offered by the panel of judges which is composed of auto press journalists and public. The reporters will offer the most important award, the Car of the Year. They will decide upon the design, safety, quality and price parameters. Ten cars which will be selected to participate in the final stage of the contest will be tested by the members of the judging staff. All the new car models which are present on the local market starting January 2006 will be allowed to participate in the contest. The public will select the winner by voting. All the cars will be divided in 15 classes and each model will have its own code. The participating cars and the rules of the contest will be presented in the “Avto Bazar” weekly magazine and on the web page of the contest www.automobilulanului.md. The public will have the possibility to vote through inquires, SMS voting and the aforementioned web page for the cars included in each class. 3 more awards will be offered for the first appearance, trademark and top sells of the year. The event will be organized during September 28 – November 10 2006. Over 100 persons from the public through drawing lots will benefit from prizes offered by the sponsors and partners of the project. The awarding ceremony will take place in November 2006.
