Cantemir young woman to stand trial for trafficking in persons
A 24-year-old woman from Cantemir is suspected of trafficking three girls from the same settlement to Russia, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, last autumn the young woman worked in the Russian Federation. She promised three girls from Cantemir that she will find employment for them as seamstresses in Moscow and paid the trip for them. When the victims arrived in Moscow, they were accommodated in a building.
The three girls said that they were forced to work at night at an improvised factory set up illegally during almost two months. As they weren’t paid for their work, the girls ran way and returned to Moldova.
The criminal case was sent to the Centru district court of Chisinau for examination.
