The Consumer Protection Agency warns the people to check the sell-by date on the products they buy. Recently, inspectors of the Agency found a consignment of candies with worms in a shop in Chisinau, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Consumer Protection Agency, the inspection was carried out after a consumer complained that candies with worms were sold at this shop. The inspectors established that the given products were indeed infected with worms and were past their sell-by date. They also found two more batches of expired candies there.

The economic entity was ordered to remove the identified irregularities. It faces a fine of up to 4,000 lei.

When products past their pull date are found, the consumers must call on 022 74-14-64 or the hotline 0 800 280 28.
