The parishioners and church employees will be informed how to prevent fires inside churches during Easter services as part of the traditional nationwide campaign conducted before the Easter holidays, IPN reports.
The activities launched on Wednesday are supported by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. Rescuers, firefighters and employees of the Agency for Technical Surveillance tell the people about situations that can lead to fire inside churches and about measures to prevent such fires, with the proper outfitting of churches with anti-fire equipment being a mandatory condition.
According to an analysis conducted by the Inspectorate, among the most frequent causes of fire in churches were the overloading of electrical circuits, inattentive use of stoves and open fire. Twenty-one fires occurred in Moldova’s churches in 2018-2022.
