Call to Government to immediately approve changes required for fighting corruption

The Anticorruption Alliance and the National Participation Council sent a letter to the Government, asking including the anticorruption and integrity insurance polices in its agenda as a matter of urgency, IPN reports.

The signatories of the letter express their regret at the fact that the bill to amend a number of legal acts, containing the changes needed to prevent and fight corruption, conflicts of interests and corruption risks was initially in the agendas of the June 25 and June 28 meetings of the Cabinet, but wasn’t included in the final versions of the Government’s agendas.

The civil society representatives consider it is imperative to approve the given legislative amendments. The bill was subject to transparency procedures and is aimed at implementing provisions concerning corruption fighting of the Association Agreement with the EU.
