The team of Nicolae Calancea, CS U Craiova, was eliminated from the UEFA Europa League. The team of the Moldovan goalkeeper lost also the second leg to AC Milan, of the third qualifying round of the competition, IPN reports.

At the San Siro arena, Craiova was beaten 0-2. The goals were scored by Bonaventura in the 9th minute and Cutrone in the 51st minute. The Moldovan player had a good performance and prevented several goals. Calancea was the second Moldovan who played against AC Milan in the European cups, after Sergiu Kleshchenko.

Among Moldovan footballers, only Alexandru Epureanu remained in the European cups this season. His team Istanbul Basaksehir will compete in the playoffs of the UEFA Champions League.
