The Cabinet approved the denouncing of the Agreement on cooperation in labor protection, which was signed in Moscow on December 9, 1994. According to Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu, the agreement turned out to be inapplicable and didn’t bring benefits to the Republic of Moldova as the agreement didn’t contain a specific implementation framework by which the signatories ensure cooperation in the field of labor protection, IPN reports.
According to Alexei Buzu, given Moldova’s objective to join the EU, the legal framework and the labor protection policies were anchored into the European practices. The Republic of Moldova so far transposed 22 directives in this regard.
In the same meeting, the Cabinet denounced the agreement on the exchange of information about natural and technogene exceptional situations, informational cooperation in the alleviation of their consequences and provision of assistance to the affected population, which was signed in Yalta on September 18, 2003.
Minister of the Interior Adrian Efros said the agreement is denounced due to the non-inclusion of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the exchange of information about natural and technogene exceptional situations stipulated in the treaty and the non-compliance of the agreement’s provisions with the current realities in the region.
When an agreement is denounced, it sops having legal effects.
