Pensions and social allowances will be indexed by 15% as from April 1. The minimum old-age pension will be 2,620.62 lei, by 342 lei more than in 2022. The relevant decision was approved by the Cabinet at the suggestion of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, IPN reports.
The minimum disability pension will rise to 1,965.47 lei for persons with severe disabilities, to 1,834.43 lei for persons with accentuated disabilities and to 1,310.31 lei persons with moderate disabilities.
The indexation coefficient was determined according to the percentage rise in the own incomes of the state social insurance budget for 2022 and will be applied only to the part of the pension that does not exceed the average official monthly salary for 2023, which is 11,700 lei.
Also, after the indexation the minimum guaranteed monthly income used to set the social benefit and the cold-month allowance will be 1,568 lei for a grownup and 1,631 lei for a child.
About 3.06 billion lei is needed for indexing the social benefits. Of this amount, 2.35 billion lei will be allocated from the social insurance budget, while the rest – from the state budget.
