The Buzau County Council in Romania earmarked €400,000 for two projects to modernize Chisinau. The donation was accepted by the Chisinau Municipal Council in its last meeting, IPN reports, quoting the Chisinau City Hall.
A sum of €350,000 will be allocated for the investment project “Laying out and Modernization of Cathedral Park”, while €50,000 will go to co-finance the investment project “Extensive Repair of Underground Pedestrian Passage on Dacia Blvd, at intersection with Traian Blvd and Decebal Blvd” in Botanica district.
The head of Buiucani district Vasile Moroi said that works to rehabilitate street lighting and to set up the irrigation system in the Cathedral Park will be financed with money from the donation of the Buzau County Council.
“The Chisinau Local Public Authority thanks the Buzau County Council for its gesture aimed at modernizing the capital city and Romania in general for its support and involvement,” runs the Chisinau City Hall’s press release.
The donation is made following a cooperation agreement between Romania’s Buzau County and Moldova’s Municipality of Chisinau that was approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council in July 2021.
