Bucharest Stock Exchange (Bursa de Valori Bucuresti)will invest in a new stock exchange in Chisinau - Bursa de Valori Chisinau, and the state will be a shareholder with participation. The announcement was made by Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba, IPN reports.

According to the minister, the investment is strategic and will make it possible to influence the development direction of the stock exchange, maintaining the commitment to the development of the capital market in Moldova.

Minister Alaiba is convinced that the investment in a stock exchange in Chisinau will bring a fundamental transformation in the economy. "Only by having access to a stock exchange can any citizen become an investor. A stock exchange gives everyone the possibility to multiply their savings much faster than a bank deposit", the official said.

According to the Minister, one of the advantages of the Stock Exchange is that all citizens will be able to invest in financial instruments that would lay the foundation for private pension and insurance funds, and companies will have easier access to Romanian and international capital through advanced trading technologies.

Global institutional investors will be attracted, which will integrate Moldovan companies into global value chains, and Moldova will connect with European markets, which will accelerate the development of the capital market, the minister says.
