Bureau for Diaspora Relations and Ministry for Romanians Everywhere to sign memorandum

A memorandum of understanding between the Bureau for Diaspora Relations and the Ministry for Romanians Everywhere is to be signed this summer during the joint meeting of the Government of Moldova and the Government of Romania. The subject was discussed by the Bureau’s head Olga Coptu in a meeting with the Minister for Romanians Everywhere Natalia-Elena Intotero, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Bureau for Diaspora Relations, the memorandum will enable to extend the bilateral cooperation in the field of the diaspora. In the discussions with the Romanian official, Olga Coptu recommended constituting national councils of the diaspora similar to the one that was set up in Canada this January. This will consolidate the diaspora associations and will ensure the efficient communication between them. Olga Coptu noted that the Bureau and the diaspora are permanently in touch through the magazine “Moldova anywhere” and the news bulletins transmitted weekly to the diaspora.

Natalia-Elena Intotero expressed her readiness to develop the inter-institutional relations and proposed staging a number of joint activities in the diaspora so as to keep the cultural values, spirituality, the Romanian language, etc.

The Romanian official is paying a working visit to Moldova during April 18-20.
