Bulgarian MP calls home ethnic Bulgarians from abroad
MP Zahari Georgiev proposed the founding of a fund to support members of ethnic Bulgarian communities from abroad who would like to settle in Bulgaria.
According to Bulgarian agency Novinite, quoted by Info-Prim Neo,
Georgiev, who is a Bulgarian Socialist MP, sees the traditional Bulgarian minorities in Romania, Moldova, and the Ukraine among others, as the main targets of the proposed programs.
According to Georgiev's plan, the donors will be able to support the fund with money, real estate, and even with deserted lands.
The aim of the fund is to find an adequate answer to the demand of many Bulgarians from the ethnic minorities abroad to resettle in the country of their ancestors. Georgiev said the creation of the fund would enable Bulgarian authorities to meet the needs of the new settlers.
The idea will be referred to the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov.
