A lab outfitted with modern equipment was inaugurated at the Vocational School of Bubuieci village of Chisinau municipality. The lab will be used to train cooks, who will be able to put into practice the theoretical knowledge so as to improve their professional abilities and skills, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Education, the workshop was renovated within the CONSEPT project that is implemented by the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) Foundation in partnership with the Ministry. The repair works and for equipment cost a total of over 1.3 million lei.
In the inaugural ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education Cristina Boaghi said that such partnerships and successes contribute to the modernization of technical professional education. “We concentrate all our efforts on modernizing technical professional education. We aim to achieve important things in this area of education so as to satisfy the demand on the labor market. Our common objective is to prepare skilled specialists with career prospects,” she stated.
Pius Frick, official representative of LED Foundation, said the organization supports 21 vocational schools and two colleges of Moldova, while the partnership with the School of Bubuieci was initiated two years ago.
Director of the Bubuieci School Zinaida Sajin said the institution’s mission is to become a modern school with the best training conditions for students so as to make full use of the offered support and to train competitive workers in the national economy.
A number of 159 students study at the Vocational School of Bubuieci. Of these, 50 train to become cooks. The institution is specialized in services and agriculture and trains cooks, sellers, flower growers, bee keepers and cashiers.
