Bubuieci village is the single locality from Chisinau municipality without a lyceum. According to the mayor of Bubuieci village, Ion Saranut, over 800 pupils study at the local school no.69. Due to lack of the lyceum, annually, about 400 children are forced to attend lyceums of Chisinau. According to Saranut, in order to save their money and time, the local authorities repeatedly asked the mayoralty of Chisinau, as well as the Education, Science, Youth and Sports General Department, to reorganize the school into a lyceum. The mayor says that the local education institution has the necessary didactic staff in order to ensure the activity of a lyceum, and the mayoralty Bubuieci is ready to allocate resources to prepare the institution to meet all the requirements. The interim mayor of Chisinau municipality, Vasile Ursu, requested to have a decision draft submitted to the Chisinau Municipal Council, which assembles this Thursday, in order to transform the school of Bubuieci into a lyceum. Through a previous CMC decision, 7 gymnasiums and general schools of the municipality, including 5 from suburban localities Budesti, Bacioi, Stauceni, Cricova and Sangera will be reorganized into lyceums starting 1 September 2006.
