The brother of ex-President Igor Dodon, who was arrested last night at the Chisinau International Airport, was set free. The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office said that Alexandru Dodon was obliged not to leave the country for a period of 60 days, IPN reports.
"After carrying out the planned criminal investigation measures with the participation of the accused, he was released and a non-custodial preventive measure was imposed," said the APO.
Alexandru Dodon is investigated for complicity in illicit enrichment in a criminal case initiated in 2022. An arrest warrant was earlier issued against him because his whereabouts were not known and he was to be informed about the indictment regarding complicity in illicit enrichment.
Igor Dodon described his brother's arrest as a continuation of the reprisals organized by the PAS government.
