Broadcasting regulator to examine beak in transmission of TV channels

The Broadcasting Coordination Council will examine the reports about the interruption in the transmission of a number of TV channels whose broadcasting is ensured by the service provider Moldtelecom in the evening of January 20, IPN reports.

In a meeting on January 21, the Council’s head Dinu Ciocan said they will make an official request to Moldtelecom today and will carry out an assessment, and will later pronounce on the issue.

Dinu Ciocan called on all the service providers of the country to obey the list of broadcast channels approved by the Council and not to remove TV channels from it, especially national ones. “If technical or other kinds of faults appear, they should fix them immediately and inform the Broadcasting Coordination Council,” he stated.

In a press release, the Council says that according to press reports, there was interrupted the  transmission of such channels as “Moldova-1”, “Canal 2”, “Canal 3”, “Pro TV Chisinau”, “Jurnal TV”, “Publika TV” and “Prime”. The case will be examined in accordance with the legal norms.
